We often use this page to feature events, functions and parties where you boys and girls have been letting your hair down, having a drink and generally enjoying yourselves.
This week it’s our turn.
IDG Communications, the parent company of ARN, will have been in Australia for 25 years next month. The first issue of the snappily-titled Australasian Computerworld hit the streets on July 14, 1978.
In recognition of this notable achievement, employees and their guests recently gathered for a celebratory silver anniversary meal at Dockside on Sydney’s Cockle Bay Wharf.
They were joined by VIPs from the IDG world — including founder and chairman of the board, Pat McGovern, and Asia president, Hugo Shong — as well as business associates and employees/guests of sister company IDC.
After a three-course meal and a few words from the great and the good, everybody got down to the serious business of enjoying the complimentary drinks and embarrassing themselves on the dance floor.
Here’s to the next 25 years, from all at ARN.
