Distribution Central subsidiary, NetWorld Systems, has struck a deal to distribute 10 Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Controller (NIC) cards from NetXen.
NetWorld Systems marketing director, Nick Verykios, said the exclusive partnership would complement its existing relationship with networking specialist, Force10 Networks. The vendor brought NetWorld on-board in February.
NetXen makes a line of multi-protocol, intelligent NICs.
"This is totally in line with the Force10 signing - we needed 10GbE products," Verykios said. "We really like that NetXen's products are programmable and can handle customisation."
NetWorld Systems plans on offering bundled 10GbE solutions to customers comprising Force10 Networks and NetXen gear, including the Force10 TeraScale E-Series family of switch/routers.
"NetXen will help us move into the datacentre with these bigger pieces of kit," Verykios said.
10GbE is seen as a core connectivity technology in datacentres. Verykios said the distributor had come across the NetXen brand about the same time it has signed Force10.
NetXen director of worldwide channel sales, David Stanton, said it was excited to expand into A/NZ and praised NetWorld's focused business model and local knowledge.
