Lexmark has promoted strategic partner manager, Carmel Mosser, to the newly created role of SMB and channel manager.
Mosser has been with Lexmark for three years and previously took care of its larger national channel partners. Prior to that, she spent seven years with Fuji Xerox and Fuji Xerox Printers.
"When I joined, Lexmark was just re-engaging at a higher level with the channel after exploring the direct matrix. I was one of the first people on the channel team," she said.
"The channel is a good place to be - I'm pleased to be in the role."
Mosser said her first point of focus would be on getting the printing vendor's channel strategy in order by ramping up business in the mid-market. Promoting managed print services was an important element of this, she said.
"We are really concentrating on that part of the market as we see a lot of opportunity in it," she said. "As a result, my role will be a hybrid of channel, as well as a focus on the medium-sized market."
While Mosser wouldn't confirm a timeframe, the forthcoming channel initiatives were expected to be finalised soon.
"We're continuing to reinforce to our partner network that we want to work with them to grow both our business and theirs," she said. "We plan to have a compelling program that highlights the importance of both our print specialist dealer network and our IT resellers."
Lexmark currently has 15 channel staff, including a dedicated SME business relationship manager. Mosser said she would also look to increase the headcount.
Mosser's appointment is an indirect replacement for previous channel manager, Neil Campbell, who left in February.
