Clearswift looks to grow channel for broader product set

Vendor is searching for resellers with firewall experience

Content security vendor, Clearswift, is on the hunt for more resellers to on-sell more of its evolving product set.

Managing director, Peter Croft, said it now offered email managed services and appliances products that would suit a wider cross section of resellers.

"The market is moving on and there is an appetite for simpler products for email boundary security functions," he claimed. "We have products which are much simpler in their implementation and are just as powerful in their ability to provide security as software, but they're a straightforward plug-and-play type of offering for resellers."

Clearswift currently has 25 associate and 25 authorised and premium partners on its books. These include Loop Technology, Dimension Data, IBM and Total Computer Technologies. Croft said he would like to add another 50 dealers via distribution partner, itX.

"Anybody that has a good history of selling firewalls will have the skills they need to properly sell our email and Web appliances," he said. "Our email managed service is one of the big boons for new resellers because it requires almost no touch from them at a technical level. There is no hardware or skills required on the end-user level, and it is easy for resellers - even if they don't have the familiarity in the Web space - to start to build that value proposition with new customers."
