Juniper brings enterprise and channel together

New sales director charged with pushing networking and security range to wider audience

Juniper Networks has installed Rod Taylor in the newly created role of director, enterprise and channel sales for A/NZ.

The hire draws together the vendor's enterprise and channel businesses under the same umbrella, local Juniper vice-president, Shaun Page, said.

"We've been making serious progress outside of the carrier space since the acquisition of NetScreen," he said. "Rod's responsibility is for that non-carrier business."

Juniper purchased the network security vendor for $4 billion in 2004.

Taylor is tasked with helping push Juniper's IP networking and security portfolio. The company claimed worldwide growth in its enterprise business of 25 per cent last year. He will be based in Sydney.

"Rod will help us work with a myriad of resellers - from smaller resellers that deal with tens of units, through to Nokia Siemens Networks or an Ericsson who tend to work with the larger customers," Page said.

The search for a channel director began last year. Page said Juniper had been in no hurry to fill the role until it found the right person.

Taylor most recently headed up Macquarie Telecom Asia-Pacific managed network initiatives out of Singapore. His 25 years in the industry have also seen him tackle executive and senior management positions at EMC, HP, Hitachi and StorageTek.
