D-Link has struck an alliance with wireless broadband provider, SkyNetGlobal, to provide hardware for its assortment of wireless and fixed broadband and home automation services. The deal will see the networking vendor supply its wireless and broadband hardware products to SkyNetGlobal’s Wi-Fi service, as well as equipment for SkyNetGloba-subsidiary W Home’s range of wireless and broadband offerings for residents of multiple dwelling units (MDUs).
More specifically, D-Link would provide CPE-based equipment such as ADSL modems and routers, wireless access points and adapters, wireless range extenders, antennas and ethernet networking products, D-Link marketing director, Maurice Famularo, said.
Referred to by SkyNetGlobal as a “smart home system”, the W Home model uses a main connection point within the MDU to distribute wireless and fixed broadband services, IP telephony and home security and automation services to the individual’s premises.
The company boasts of 20 live W Home sites in Australia, with 30 additional sites ready for deployment.
As part of the deal, D-Link will also recommend W Home as their apartment and SME office suite ISP partner within the Asia-Pacific region for fixed and wireless services.
