Multimedia accessories distributor, iWorld Australia, is looking forward to accessing a broader product range following Philip's decision to acquire its major vendor partner, Digital Lifestyle Outfi tters (DLO).
The iPod and MP3 accessories vendor was picked up by Philips last week. "We just think it's fantastic. With the cross pollination of products, it is going to be exciting for us," iWorld managing director, Chad DeClase, said. "DLO will become a digital servicing part of Philips so they are going to keep their model.
They have just set up distributors in Canada and Europe and will continue with those partners."
iWorld became a distributor of DLO products in January. DeClase said it was still early days as to how much Philips product it would gain access to.
"I think it really gives Philips an arm into the portable media market. We know that there are some exciting products coming out from DLO itself, and now with Philips on-board, it catapults that into another atmosphere," he said.
Resellers will have access to new products and DeClase said because of the volume manufacturing, it would also inspire lower prices.
