Desktop management software vendor, Danware, has appointed inTechnology to be its exclusive local distributor, bumping Sydney's Checkmark off its global distribution ranks.
The Danish company's software covers desktop management, education and security. Previously, inTechnology had been distributing Danware's education-centric product, NetOp School, which enables teaching in physical and virtual classrooms via the Internet or other networks.
The new deal allows it also carry Danware's desktop management product, NetOp Remote Control, as well as its security products including NetOp Desktop Firewall and NetOp Netfilter.
"We've worked with Danware for the last four or five years and basically it just wanted to go exclusively with one local distributor with a good spread of channel partners, so it chose us," inTechnology director of sales and marketing, Mark Winter, said.
inTechnology has a handful of resellers already working with the NetOp School software. Winter said these would be the nucleus for distributing the wider product range. He was excited to get exclusive rights to more Danware software as it would deliver broader sales opportunities.
"In signing this exclusivity deal, we will gain a lot more marketing dollars to use in the channel and we can now go out with the right channel strategy," he said. "Danware has a full channel program that's really focused which we will use."
Checkmark confirmed it was no longer working with the Danish vendor, but declined to comment further.
