Premier increases professional services headcount

New recruit will focus on developing its payment services business

Contact centre provider, Premier Technologies, has hired Anthony McKew as its first professional services group manager.

CEO, Fausto Marasco, said the company had experienced 50 per cent growth in its professional services business since the middle of last year.

"There is a lot going on in the market, particularly in the areas we are working such as call centre and hosting," he said. "There is also a lot happening in our payment services business."

McKew would focus on a number of projects the company was running and developing the business in key areas such as payment services, Marasco said.

"I'd expect that he would make changes. The new secure payments regime that Visa and Mastercard are bringing out actually requires a lot of core infrastructure and development work to be done to ensure the security of payments," he said. "They are taking security seriously and that's forcing a bit of consolidation in the market place. A lot of the smaller players saying 'we can't comply to those security standards so we are going to opt out,' and we are picking up a lot of work as a consequence of it."

McKew was previously chief technology officer at SecurePay. Prior to that, he was the R&D manager for Loyalty Magic.
