Sage appoints new partner development manager

Plans to leverage US programs locally

Business software vendor, Sage Business Solutions has brought Steve Orleow on board to take up a new post as its partner development manager. Prior to joining Sage, he helped electronic billing vendor, Striata, set up its local operations.

In his new role, Orleow will examine the businesses of its 160 A/NZ channel partners and set up various programs derived from its US counterpart. He will report to managing director, Mike Lorge.

"Globally, Sage does a lot of work on partner development and we are going to capitalise on some of those programs and initiatives," Orleow said. "In the US they run many different types of academies, boot camps and training sessions that go beyond pure product training and involve a lot of business skills. Our program should be continuously improved."

Orleow said he had three training sessions scheduled for partners this year. The next set runs May 27-June 1. It will focus on providing partners with consulting and marketing skills.
