NetApp's disk-based storage division, StoreVault, is teaming up with US-based Azaleos to produce an all-in-one product for SMB storage needs.
The pair would combine the StoreVault S500 and Azaleos OneServer products in a bid to simplify storage system protection, data backup and recovery, and capacity provisioning, NetApp director of marketing and alliance, Mark Heers, said.
StoreVault's data protection software will form the cornerstone of the appliance, while Azaleos OneServer will offer proactive monitoring by Exchange experts, patch management, system fixes, and reporting for SMB customers who want to "set and forget" their Exchange Server environments. StoreVault will also enable the Exchange environment to be backed up, replicated, and restored.
Vendor integration has been the name of the game for StoreVault's channel strategy. Its product are exclusively distributed in Australia through Lan 1. Heers said it was focused on offering customers an all-in-one storage solution. The vendor is attempting to achieve this through a number of partnerships that will see the StoreVault appliance integrated with managed services.
"Our objective with the StoreVault product is to offer incremental changes so we can appeal to a wide range of SMBs who are looking for that one-stop solution," Heers said.
