Security vendor, Sophos, has launched a tiered global partner program to help increase technical capabilities across its channel.
A/NZ channel manager, Zoe Nicholson, said it was aimed at not only enabling partners to sell product, but also build their business around Sophos.
"The good thing about it is that it has been run globally and the channel heads are having a say into how it's been developed," she said. "Whereas before we would just do localised programs, this means we have access to more central resources back in headquarters and in the United States. Resellers will find there will be a lot more support and information to go out to market with."
Partners will be split into three tiers - silver, gold and platinum. Nicholson said it was offering more comprehensive online training and marketing support.
"We are doing a series of Web seminars and face-to-face training so partners can become more specialised if they want to be," she said. "We are adding in marketing and access to partner portals, information on new products and other things. They will know where we are going ahead of time."
Current Sophos dealers will automatically be integrated into the program.
Gold and platinum partners would have access to its incentive points-based program, Nicholson said. The vendor currently has around 1000 partners, ranging from outsourcers to VARs.
"We have got a lot more products now and there are a lot of areas partners can make money in. We are really trying to give them the information to move forward and maximise their revenues with us," she said. "They don't have to be a large organisation to be a platinum partner. It's literally based on the value partners bring to the program."
