ASX-listed wireless broadband outfit, Access Providers, has appointed Malcolm Everitt as its CFO and company secretary. He replaces Joe Demase, who will concentrate on COO duties.
Everitt was previously the CFO for Activ Australia, which was acquired by Access Providers in October. Everitt said the company had experienced rapid growth recently and needed a more professional approach to managing its finances.
He plans to consolidate the accounting operations of the company - following the acquisition of Saise Telecoms, Online 2000 and Activ - through introducing an ERP system and implementing a financial reporting package.
"It will give us the basis for being able to produce financial reports on tight deadlines. It is a very dynamic business and you have to be able to move very quickly. Unless you have the numbers at your fingertips, you can't make a decision," he said. "The big thing at the moment is to concentrate on consolidation and prepare the business for the rapid growth that we are experiencing at the moment, which is always difficult to stay ahead of."
