Emerson Liebert NXe

The latest three-phase UPS from Emerson Network Power, which is partly designed in Australia, features true-online double conversion UPS technology for failsafe operation in the most mission-critical data centre environments. Only a double conversion UPS provides 100 per cent protection with complete input-to-output isolation and totally regenerated power, the vendor claims. It also delivers 100 per cent power conditioning, zero transfer time to battery, great stability of output voltage and frequency and better transient suppression than line-interactive units. The Liebert NXe features a wider input voltage window that allows the UPS to absorb deeper sags without having to transfer to battery. It also features fully digital control technology, allowing for highly accurate, drift-proof control compared to traditional analogue electronics. This enables the UPS to provide accurate, reliable power protection under a wide range of conditions.
Distributed by LAN Systems.
RRP: from $10,000 (for a 10kVA unit)

APC InfraStruXure InRow SC

The InfraStruXure InRow SC cooling unit provides predictable air conditioning for wiring closets and server rooms. This 12-inch wide (half-rack) self-contained cooling solution is capable of providing up to 7kW of cooling capacity, allowing IT professionals to place the unit right next to the heat load to deliver predictable, agile heat removal. This reduces energy costs by removing heat at the source that would otherwise require greater fan horsepower over longer distances of ductwork. The InRow SC's plug-and-play design allows for rapid installation without the need for running refrigerant lines, providing remote heat exchangers or contracted mechanical services. Wiring closets and computer rooms have traditionally used building air conditioning to satisfy the cooling requirement in those environments. Higher power densities in networking switches, servers and other IT equipment have increased heat requirements well beyond the building air conditioning system.
Distributed by Express Data.
RRP: The InRow SC is priced at $12,800 or as part of a package that includes all mandatory services for $21,800.

Avocent Cyclades PM

The intelligent power distribution unit (IPDUs) enables remote power management and control of servers and other associated network devices. When used in conjunction with their ACS console servers or DSR series KVM Switches, and with Avocent DSView 3 management software, the Cyclades PM provides a power management system with easier management capabilities and faster problem solving by integrating system access and power control into a single interface. All models include two RS-232 outlets that allow the creation of daisy-chains with up to 128 outlets. With the Cyclades ACS console server, users can remotely manage infrastructure using HTTP, HTTPS, telnet, SSHv2 and SNMP protocols. It also has the ability to integrate the solution with existing LDAP, Kerberos or Radius authentication schemes. The power devices are available in horizontal and vertical form factors.
Distributed by Comsol and Firewall Systems.
RRP: from $1140

Eaton Powerware Enclosure Solutions

Eaton's new Powerware Enclosure Solutions range includes premium Data Centre Racks Power Distribution Units (PDU) and Environmental Rack Monitor (ERM) that complement the vendor's rack mount UPSs and a host of other power quality equipment. The enclosures feature an internally welded frame with a repetitive hole pattern that delivers high load bearing capacity with additional mounting options. The floating 19-inch rails provide more space for zero U cable management and PDU installations. Tool-free accessories improve ease of installation and reduce time and deployment costs. To complement these enclosures, the new range of rack mount PDUs distribute power in high density rack environments - or anywhere power must be distributed to multiple pieces of equipment. With a choice of models, the PDUs can be mounted in a variety of ways to maximise usable rack space. The new ERM combines temperature, humidity and four digital inputs in a compact unit with 10/100MB Ethernet connectivity supporting HTTP, email and SNMP.
Distributed by Tecksel, Bluechip Infotech, Cellnet, JTC, Multimedia Technology, BMS Technology, HiTech Distribution, NPS and Poweron Australia.
RRP: Enclosures starting from $2333; PDUs from $334; ERM from $633

MGE UPS Evolution

This high-frequency, line-interactive UPS range is dedicated to network equipment protection. There are two types available: the Evolution tower or 1U rack format from 650 to 2000 VA (2U for 2000 VA); and Evolution S, available in two- in-one tower and rack format from 1250 to 3000 VA. To achieve high levels of availability, it offers remote administration capability with a wide range of tools for communication either locally (via the USB or serial port) or remotely (via the IP network). It provides UPS status supervision and access to settings and advanced functions, from a Web browser to SNMP-based network management consoles such as HP Openview, IBM Tivoli Netview, CA Unicenter, and the company's Enterprise Power Manager v.2 software. It is also equipped with key functions for network applications including remote rebooting of applications and backup management with built-in programmable switched outlets; and sequential outlet start-up. The optional Hot-Swap MBP (maintenance by-pass) module means the unit can be replaced without shutting down the protected equipment.
Distributed by ACA Pacifi c, MPA Systems, Clipsal, Pacifi c Datacom, NPS and Alpha Energy.
