Optima celebrates 15th birthday as largest Australian PC, notebook and server manufacturer

SYDNEY, Australia – As a PC, notebook and server manufacturer, Optima Technology Solutions (ASX:OPI) has validated its position in the Australian market by winning a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award, as well as being ranked as the 7th top computer vendor in the country in IDC’s Q1 2004 PC Tracker report.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies, public or private, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2001 to 2003) and includes all related industry sectors: Communications; Software; Semiconductors, Components and Electronics; Life Sciences; Internet; and Computer Peripherals.

With headquarters in Sydney and branch offices in all major centres throughout the country, Optima achieved 78 per cent revenue growth over the last three years.

“Optima has experienced more than 30 per cent growth in the most recent financial year and we expect to accelerate this growth in 2004,” said Cornel Ung, Managing Director, Optima Technology Solutions.

“We are also planning to boost the Optima business by targeting existing markets, offering them more than just products and solutions, but a partnership, where we work together to achieve our goals.”

This rating follows a recent IDC market survey that found Optima to be amongst the top notebook, desktop and server vendors in Australia, ranked 7th behind Apple.

As the highest ranked Australian-based vendor on this list, Optima is able to maintain that it is the country’s leading computer manufacturer.

From this position, Optima celebrates 15 years in operation at the end of this month.

“By meeting our customer demands for high-quality, affordable products and by supporting these products through a nationwide supply and service network, we have managed to maintain our position as a market leader, giving us even more to shout about this month as we celebrate our 15th birthday,” said Ung
