FrontRange set to acquire enteo software

Expansion of global footprint

IT service management provider, FrontRange Solutions, has signed an agreement to acquire asset management company, enteo Software.

Based in Germany, enteo provides Citrix management solutions and is a leader in asset management with more than 1200 customers and 200 partners globally.

Products cover patch management, licensing, compliance and configuration management to support network-based endpoints from mobile devices to desktops, servers and storage assets.

FrontRange CEO, Michael McCloskey, said the combined offerings of both companies will allow customers to integrate service management with PC lifecycle and remediation management solutions to increase infrastructure availability.

With its flagship help desk and IT service management product suite dubbed Heat, FrontRange has more than 8000 customers and 300 partners in 24 countries.

The acquisition goal is to expand its footprint in the global software market and to promote solutions based on best practice frameworks such as the ITIL methodology.

enteo Software CEO, Stephan Glathe, said PC configuration and remediation can provide synergies to IT service management.

"IT organisations thinking strategically about future business needs are looking for more complete solutions with the right value proposition. It's all about doing more with less by optimising the lifecycle of assets while delivering better service," he said.

Research VP at the Service and Support Professionals Association, John Ragsdale, said service management tools are maturing and now have best of breed capabilities for license and asset lifecycle management.

"With more emphasis by CIO's on cross-enterprise integration, the ability to manage workflow across the enterprise, including unlimited integration points, will further drive effectiveness and productivity of frontline service teams," Ragsdale said.

FrontRange customers include AMP, Caltex, University of Sydney and Collection House.
