Vodafone Australia targets business travellers with new 5-zone international roaming tariffs

<p>Vodafone Australia today broke new ground in international roaming with the launch of Vodafone World and announced a new push to target business travellers. Vodafone World simplifies the process of making and receiving calls overseas by dividing the world into five international zones, with each call charged in Australian dollars at one flat rate and no peak or off peak rates.</p>
<p>Currently, travelling overseas with a mobile phone can be confusing and expensive, with most carriers charging multiple tariffs for separate countries, with widely varying peak and off peak rates. Vodafone World’s innovative 5-Zone international roaming cuts through the complexity of understanding international roaming charges.</p>
<p>Vodafone customers are also rewarded with a 10% discount on calls made in more than 30 countries, when they use the Vodafone network for calls made within that country and back to Australia. Plus, Vodafone customers have access to services such as 121 for voicemail, 123 for information and 1555 for customer care when roaming in select networks, just as they do in Australia.</p>

Vodafone World makes international roaming simple, with a clear 5-zone, flat rate approach in nearly 80 countries that is transparent, easy to understand and use when travelling.”</p>
<p>International roaming is a massive growth area, with almost a fifth of the Australian population travelling overseas every year . A recent study undertaken by Vodafone UK found almost half of all business travellers claimed their mobile was the number one item they couldn't manage without when travelling for work.</p>
<p>Chantal continues, “The business market is an important part of the Vodafone Australia growth strategy. Vodafone World offers flat rates for both voice and data services, so it fits well with our Vodafone Mobile Connect and Vodafone Blackberry offerings - we’re making it easy for customers to stay connected while they travel overseas on business.”</p>

<p>Vodafone Australia joins 12 other Vodafone countries, which have previously launched the innovative Vodafone World 5-zone tariffs – Vodafone UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Greece, Portugal, Hungary, Switzerland and Japan.</p>
