South Australian games developer, Imagination Entertainment, was recently honoured with the national Hudson Business Award at the 2006 Telstra Business Awards final.
The gong goes to companies with 51-100 employees. It was judged on business success, customer and staff satisfaction and retention, and strategic planning.
The win comes after the company received the first ever AMP Innovation Award in SA. Founder and CEO, Shane Yeend, compared the awards to winning gold medals in the Olympics. "It's such an achievement, thanks to the blood, sweat and tears of everyone who works on these projects," he said.
Imagination was founded in 2001. The company develops and distributes a range of interactive DVD, console and mobile phone games as well as television, digital media production and interactive TV.
Imagination now has 70 staff across the US, Europe and Australia. Its products are available through 85,000 retail outlets worldwide.
