Storage vendor, CommVault, has refreshed its channel program with new partner certifications. Managing director, Gerry Sillars, said it wanted to strengthen partner skill sets.
"We now have specific training programs in architecture and design. For technical architects, there is an implementation and pre-sales training program so that they have what it takes to sell CommVault solutions," he said.
The vendor plans to launch three additional certifications by the second half of the year. Sillars said certifications involved two levels: the first was based around design, while the second consisted of an individual exam focusing on what CommVault's business, understanding policy architecture, and how to move data.
Sillars said resellers also had the option of taking elective modules in technology areas, such as its continuous data applicator.
Following in the footsteps of its US counterpart, Sillars said he would also be keen to introduce a partner rebate program. Current CommVault distributors are Avnet and ACA Pacific.
"It is certainly something we are looking at, but we need to decide if it's going to be alright for the local market," he said.
CommVault's local business continued to increase, with sales over the last quarter in A/NZ growing by about 36 per cent, Sillars said.
