Unified communications vendor, Polycom, has recruited Michael Chetner as its country manager. He replaces James Anderson, who has moved on to pursue other opportunities.
Chetner was previously the company's Asia-Pacific director of sales. He will conduct a full review of its channel partners and sales force.
"In the last six months we have reviewed our whole partner base to get ourselves into this new converged space with vendor partners Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, IBM, Microsoft, Nortel and Cisco," Chetner said.
He plans to strengthen Polycom's stance in key vertical markets including healthcare and education.
"We will be rolling out a whole set of initiatives that are targeted at line of business as well as vertical market campaigns," Chetner said.
The vendor is also establishing a Melbourne office, which will be opening this quarter.
