Sydney-based distributor, Brightpoint, has upgraded its online ordering platform.
Managing director, Felix Wong, said its previous online platform was starting to show its age. With more than 4000 users now on its books, the business needed a platform to take it into the future.
"Based on feedback from customers, we wanted the new platform to provide greater functionality and more information," he said. "Basically, we've made it smarter for people to work with."
Wong highlighted a product matrix which allows users to pull up multiple items and compare feature-sets. Other improvements include user-selected logins, an order tracking system and an enhanced search function.
He said the site and its back-end inventory listings could also be re-used by customers as a B2C site of their own design. Fulfillment would come via Brightpoint's own logistics service.
"We're what I call a B2B2C, where half the business is being a distributor and half is logistics," he said. "This engine we've built is re-skinnable for our customers to use as a Web shop for their own customers."
