Optoma EP-780

The vendor claims its latest 4000 lumens DLP projector is the lightest in its class, weighing just 3kg. It offers up to 3000 hours of lamp life and comes with a mix of connections including composite, component, SVideo, DVI and computer inputs. These can be used for an array of multimedia presentations and with various data sources. It also features RJ45 and 9 Pin RS232 connectors for network or serial control and monitoring. The EP-780 uses Optoma's patented tunnel cooling system, which is designed for near-silent operation with no light leakage. It has native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, 3000:1 contrast ratio, and the latest DLP Dark Chip 3 Technology from Texas Instruments.

According to the distributor, this is the world's first cordless dual phone for Skype that does not need a PC. All the device needs is to be hooked up to a broadband Internet connection. Users can choose to make a free call via the Internet between Skype users, or use a regular landline connection. The device has a Skype user interface and possesses nearly all its voice features. The phone base station can be connected to the broadband router and the PSTN phone line. Some additional benefits include a colour display and up to 10 hours of talk time or 140 hours standby.

Polycom PowerCam Presenter

The PowerCam Presenter solution consists of a rack-mounted control system (1U), a motorised pan/tilt/zoom camera, a wearable wireless ultrasonic locator and a remote control. Compatible with most video conferencing systems, it uses patent-pending ultrasonic technology to wirelessly track, automatically focus and zoom in and out as the user moves around a room, providing complete freedom of movement. Users wear the ultrasonic transmitter device and press a button to activate camera tracking capabilities from up to 15m away. Camera operation is not dependent upon microphone wires, voice or presets, which provides flexibility with room configuration. It can also be used as a stand-alone camera for applications such as training presentations and video streaming.

Equipped with a charging system, this lightweight Bluetooth headset allows users to switch between two Bluetooth audio devices. It offers up to 15 hours of talk time and in an industry first for Plantronics, contains a pen-sized carrying case that stores AAA batteries and charges the headset between calls. Multipoint technology allows the headset to work with multiple Bluetooth devices such as phones, PDAs or laptops. The device weighs 9g, making it the lightest Bluetooth headset in its range, the vendor claims. It comes with three sizes of soft gel ear tips for added comfort.
