Resource provider, Intersell, is launching a new online quoting tool for resellers.
Based on data from Ingram Micro, the tool will allow resellers to view a range of different products and specifications. It will be available in two forms: standalone or integrated with Intersell's ecommerce toolkit, TechLink4U.
"The standalone [version] is available for resellers that don't want an ecommerce solution and just want a quoting tool," general manager, Wayne Troy, said. "Every reseller will in some way need to utilise it and it is very cost effective."
The tool also displays associated products, giving dealers the opportunity to cross and up-sell their offering.
"One of the biggest challenges resellers face while they are still in the quote is adding extra products. This can have an effect on sales value and margins," he said. "Since this information is presented automatically [with the quoting tool] it very easy for the user to add those in as options."
The first beta test is due to start in the next month, with about six TechLink4U resellers trialling the service. Troy plans to fully launch the tool by May. The company is currently working out final pricing.
"With the quoting tool we're adding a new dimension: it will act as an entry point to ecommerce and hopefully bring in some of those disciplines," Troy said. "It's important to point out our model is a hosted solution and removes all the barriers around technology, infrastructure and content."
Intersell's TechLink4U offering was launched in September. It allows dealers to build a hosted website using product information from Ingram's extensive product portfolio. Key features include built-in SSL security, multiple payment methods and marketing content.
There are currently about 58 live dealer sites, with a further 38 going through application and construction stages.
