OEM PC and server distributor, Xpress IT, has revamped its dealer website. Business manager, Craig Worland, said resellers could now customise PC build orders to their exact requirements. It also features drop ship functionality and returns.
"Before, resellers could only place orders. The website is now more informative and useable; it can handle everything from product information to placing orders to returns through one log in," he said. "We have increased functionality so resellers can achieve a higher level of customisation for each PC and achieve what the client wants."
The drop ship function allowed resellers to arrange for purchases to be sent directly to the client. Xpress IT also offers a 'next day dispatch' service for urgent system orders, Worland said.
"This saves on overhead costs as well as speeds up delivery for the reseller," he said. "They can also store a number of third-party addresses in their client list, which helps solve a lot of the freight and handling issues."
Worland said the distributor was seeking growth on national scale and was searching for more resellers. Xpress IT had experienced about 30 per cent annual growth over the past four years and he anticipated it would continue. It planned to hire more sales, technical and warehouse staff in the next six months. "We are going through a growth phase and the more resellers we have on the better," Worland said.
He attributed much of the recent growth to the closure of Omega and AAA Computers.
