Mobile computing users of Packeteer's Mobiliti application will be offered a free upgrade to its latest 7.0 version next month.
Packeteer country manager, Bede Hackney, said in a statement that Mobiliti 7.0 integrated two of the company's technologies - Mobiliti and SkyX - creating an application that enabled mobile and SOHO users to work on remotely-held files in addition to automatically backing up desktop data.
The application also features an offline access mode, which caches recently-used files so that remote users can have data access without being logged onto the network.
Mobiliti 7.0 is currently in beta testing. New user pricing wasn't provided by the vendor at this time, but it is expected to be consistent with the current combined pricing of its Mobiliti and SkyX products.
