<p>Ingram Micro improves reseller services with official launch of online facilities</p>
<p>Sydney, Australia – Ingram Micro Australia, part of one of the largest global providers of technology products and supply chain management services, has grown its online business by 300 per cent and now aims to increase this margin by officially launching its new web site and its range of online value-added initiatives.</p>
<p>Always aiming to improve the service it offers its customers, Ingram Micro has developed web facilities that enable resellers to place orders, view statements, search for product prices and availability and track the status of orders and shipments online. These facilities were originally introduced to the Ingram Micro portfolio at the end of last year and since this time have been trialed to assess their effectiveness.</p>
<p>These online services have already proven to be a huge success, with Ingram Micro seeing a significant increase in online activity in the first quarter of 2004, with web revenue increasing 300 per cent from the same period last year. Based on this success, Ingram Micro is now officially launching its new web site - known as Version 6 (V6) – and is actively encouraging resellers to take advantage of these services via a range of value-added incentives.</p>
<p>“Resellers have been quick to use our new and improved web facilities, enjoying the ability to independently access fast and reliable information in real time, no longer having to wait in telephone queues or for call backs,” said Cristian Contreras, E-Commerce Business Manager, Ingram Micro.</p>
<p>“Now, with the formal launch of the web facilities and its subsequent promotional initiatives, we are positive that the number of resellers taking advantage of this service will steadily increase.”</p>
<p>Online incentives include access to exclusive online promotions and specials, and customised pricing.</p>
<p>Additionally, Ingram Micro will launch a range of marketing initiatives designed to further drive online sales and raise awareness about the capabilities of its web site. A step-by-step User Guide has been created to educate resellers on how to use the complete range of functions now available online. Soft copies of this booklet can now be accessed via the Ingram Micro website and hard copies can picked up at any Ingram Micro branch throughout Australia.</p>
<p>Information about these services and promotions will also be emailed to Ingram Micro’s resellers, who will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on the site, ensuring that Ingram Micro can constantly update this facility to effectively meet its resellers’ needs.</p>
