Samsung national sales manager, Joe Serra, has quit and taken up a role in Panasonic's professional AV and commercial division, reporting directly to AV and IT group manager, Brendan Frawley.
Serra said his decision to leave was a personal one.
He said there was no animosity between him and Samsung management.
"I've been with Samsung for five years. I achieved what I needed to achieve," Serra said. "I need a new challenge and some growth.
"This new job is different to what I was doing, but it is close to my heart. I set up the professional AV side at Samsung and I have an interest in this space. So when this opportunity came up it was a natural fit."
Serra started at Samsung as the product manager for monitors, before being promoted to the national sales manager's role two years ago.
"I wish Samsung all the best. I'm sure they will go well for many years to come," he said.
His replacement is expected to be announced in the New Year.
