Niche power supply distributor, Actiontec, has added German-based Tagan to its vendor portfolio. The high-end power range includes the TG580-U22 2Force, TG580-U15 EasyCon and Turbo Jet U95-1100W series, which is designed for highend gaming, video design and server applications.
"They have a very strong presence in Europe," Actiontec director, Nikol Su, said. "Our aim is bring out products that cater for a specific market and provide the whole package for resellers specialising in power supply."
The distributor will mainly target the products towards users with high-end servers and is currently looking for more resellers that play in that market. Tagan products could be bundled with PC cases.
"High-end servers need more power and Tagan has the output to support them," Su said. "The demand for power products is increasing." Su said resellers should expect to see more products added to the Actiontec portfolio. Its current line-up also includes Enermax.
"We are after manufacturers with quality products that are not driven by price," he said. "They must have a brand we can establish locally in a market that is not overly saturated." NanoPoint Technology (manufacturer of Tagan products) vice-president, Charles Chuang, said the deal was its first foray into the Australian market. "Actiontec has the technical knowledge and resources to push power supplies in the local market," he said. "They have a wide reach of resellers and system integrators who know and understand the importance of the power supply market."
