Green thumbs and dirty hands

Green thumbs and dirty hands

Canberra will be a little greener after 500 native trees and shrubs were planted as part of Fuji Xerox’s (FXP) partnership with Greening Australia.

The planting, which pre-empted World Environment Day on June 5, saw 30 FXP staff at work along Holdens Creek below Mount Stromlo.

The creek’s banks were damaged in the January 2003 bushfires.

ACT and South East NSW executive officer for Greening Australia, Toby Jones, said the area’s residents would benefit from both the restoration to their social and recreational area and its environmental impact.

FXP also recently committed funds for Greening Australia to direct seed 5500 native trees and shrubs in Spring 2004 to ensure ongoing support of the area.
