St. Bernard Software has added SecureServ as a second distributor to help deliver its newly released security managed services offering to SMBs.
The vendor may not be a household name but it has, through inaugural distributor, Infotronics, had a presence in Australia with its UpdateEXPERT and Open File Manager products. Its new LivePrism provides filtering for Web, email and Instant Messenger traffic.
"SecureServ is a niche player in the security services market," St Bernard international sales manager, Oceania, Rob Harkness, said. "They were chosen because they are focused [on that space].
"We can't just stick it [LivePrism] in a catalogue and hope to sell it that way."
LivePrism is mainly targeted at SMBs. Harkness said the sweet spot was anything from 10-500 employees. He said the service would appeal to organisations which were after enterprise-level security but couldn't justify the cost of installing a solution from scratch.
Ahead of the launch of LivePrism, St. Bernard established a physical presence in Australia in October last year. Since then, Harkness has worked on shoring up a second distributor and resellers to push the service.
The LivePrism package (which covers email, IM and Web filtering) will be sold at $5.50 per month.
