LG has turned out a widescreen notebook with a built-in TV tuner as it seeks to compete in the market of converged entertainment devices.
The W1Pro Express Dual features a 17-inch widescreen display for high-quality broadcasts when connected to a home or office antenna. In a statement, LG IT category manager, Janelle Dilger, said the emergence of multi-purpose, converged entertainment devices in the market had led the vendor to make its own all-in-one entertainment unit.
Built into a 30.6mm wide, 3.1kg chassis, the W1Pro Express Dual includes wireless Internet capabilities supporting both 54 Mbps wireless Internet and Bluetooth 2.0. Powering the unit is an Intel Core2 Duo processor running at either 1.83GHz or 2.0GHz, an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics chip and Windows Vista Home Premium as the operating system.
The W1Pro Express Dual retails from $3299.
