Recently installed F5 Networks managing director of A/NZ, Chris Poulos, will look to grow partner ranks in the west to expand its mid-market presence.
Western Australia and, to a lesser degree, South Australia, provided an opportunity for the business to increase its number of channel partners, he said.
"Coming into this role, I can see some fantastic potential to further engage the channel," Poulos said. "We're in the throes right now of planning with the team and making sure we have the right partners in the right geographies." He said it would also potentially look at re-organising its channel in the eastern states.
"We want to be able to slot in the right resellers at the right level," Poulos said. "The mid-market is a spot we want to move towards in particular."
Distribution was also due for some changes, with Poulos confirming it was in discussions with one of its two Australian distributors, Firewall Systems, to look after New Zealand. It also works with Ingram Micro.
Poulos replaces Les Howarth, who has gone to Citrix Systems to take up the newly created role of director for its Application Networking Group in the Asia-Pacific region.
He most recently held the Asia-Pacific managing director's role at Akimbi Systems. The company was acquired by VMware in June.
Prior to Akimbi, Poulos was a sales director at Trend Micro before replacing Kenny Liao as managing director in May 2001.
