Communications distributor, Brightpoint, has signed a deal to carry the entire range of networking vendor, NetComm.
Head of product marketing, Ettore Alterisio, said the partnership would enable Brightpoint to access new channels and customers.
"We are building a portfolio of products that will complement each other and enable the channel to develop solutions for the wireless home, SOHO and enterprise," he said. "It will also provide our existing partners with a more complete solution to meet evolving market demands."
Alterisio said the products were mainly geared towards the retail, SME and corporate markets.
"We have been on a very aggressive path to diversify our portfolio and are recruiting partners to extend our position in the market as we aim to provide access to the latest wireless technology," he said.
Other NetComm distributors include Ingram Micro, Cellnet, Multimedia Technology, TodayTech, HiTech Distribution and Edsys.
NetComm channel sales manager, Ken Kozak, said he was keen to expand the vendor's footprint and thought the market could support another distributor.
"Brightpoint will help us drive a wider focus with mass merchant retailers and the dealer channel," he said. "We haven't played too much in the telco market with our other distributors and we see a lot of opportunity there.
"This is part of our continued commitment to growing NetComm in the local market. We will do whatever it takes to regain the market share we have lost to some of our competitors."
