VExpress resellers learned a thing or two about batting your way to success during the distributor's recent annual partner conference.
Cricketing legend, Max Walker, gave attendees a humorous insight into the game, his life and the way to get ahead.
About 100 dealers flocked to the conference at Pelican Waters in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Alongside briefings about the latest technologies from Telstra, Alcatel and Eicon, dealers managed to squeeze in a few rounds of golf and plenty of partying. Local Alcatel CEO, Hilary Mine, was also on-hand to reward partners. Queensland-based A&B Communications took out Metropolitan Dealer of the Year, while Mildura's TechAce received the Regional equivalent. The pair each scored a trip for two to Alcatel's annual conference in Paris next February.
"Last year's awards were dominated by the new age channel. This year the traditional guys, who started with 4200 systems and have strong engineering backgrounds, were in good shape," VExpress sales manager, Grant Morrison, said. "It shows old dogs can learn new tricks."
Alcatel is now running a sales campaign with three more expenses paid conference trips to Paris up for grabs. It runs until the end of January.
