Former Microbits managing director, Max Mentiplay, has formed a distributor called Interactive and Digital Signage (IADS). The SA-based company currently has two vendor relationships - RemoteMedia Presenter and Audience.
RemoteMedia Presenter is a software package from New Zealand that can turn a computer network into an internal messaging platform. Audience, which hails from Canada, allows users to send messages to staff and visitors using screensaver technology.
Mentiplay said key markets include retail, hospitality and corporate sector.
He wants to appoint three AV resellers and network integrators per state.
"In particular, I am looking for resellers that service organisations with 50-plus seats and have active outbound sales teams to work with the product," Mentiplay said.
He said partners would be able to achieve 25 per cent margins.
Mentiplay was formerly the boss of Microbits, a PC assembly and support outfit he established in 1983. It went into administration last month.
Looking to the future, Mentiplay said the digital signage market had a lot of growth potential.
