SA-based Jigsaw Services has been purchased by UXC's Oracle Applications business, Red Rock Consulting, where it will operate as an autonomous business unit. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Red Rock Consulting co-CEO, Jonathan Rubinsztein, the acquisition of the largest JD Edwards EnterpriseOne provider in Australia mirrored consolidation within the ERP vendor community.
"There has been consolidation with Oracle acquiring JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and Siebel," he said. "As a result, our customers are looking for one organisation to provide end-to-end services."
Jigsaw Services is best known as a provider of JD Edwards software and services. With a staff of 85, it services the likes of Coopers Brewery, Hardy Wine Company and Treasury Corporation Victoria.
Rubinsztein said bringing JD Edwards skills into Red Rock's mix of services meant the business could handle licenses and services across the whole Oracle ERP business.
While the purchase will see staff from Jigsaw's eastern seaboard offices rolled into Red Rock offices, the reverse would happen in South Australia. With Jigsaw's head office in Adelaide, Red Rock will now use it as its base of SA operations.
Perth is the only major capital where Red Rock is yet to establish a presence, although Rubinsztein hinted it was on the cards.
"There are a lot of Oracle opportunities in WA. Not setting up there has been a function of prioritising growth but we have been looking at a potential acquisition," he said.
