Emerson Network Power puts channel training and certification on the FAST TRACK

 • 06 February, 2007 12:21

Sydney, Australia, February 6, 2007 – Emerson Network Power Australia has launched a new training and certification program to equip its IT resellers with the sales and technical skills needed to identify, and on-sell, power protection solutions to ensure business-critical continuity for their customers.

The program, called FAST TRACK, will comprise three modules that cover topics ranging from power for IP telephony to remote management, powering and cooling blade servers and managing critical spaces. Emerson’s network of distributors will host the program, with the first scheduled for February 27 at LAN Systems in Sydney.

“The idea for FAST TRACK came directly from listening to our resellers, who wanted a structured program to give them the skills they need to integrate power protection solutions with their existing portfolios, and allow them to better service their customers while increasing their earning potential through additional services,” says Martin Hatcher, National Channel Manager, Emerson Network Power Australia.

“Over the past few years we’ve noticed an increasing awareness of the importance of power protection in a business-critical IT infrastructure, but resellers don’t necessarily have the technical know-how to advise and implement power protection in the same way they do other networking solutions because power has traditionally been separate to the IT mainstream.

“That’s no longer the case, so the purpose of a program like FAST TRACK is to give our resellers the insight on how to build better infrastructure systems to enable their customers’ businesses to be more competitive and adaptable to change, ultimately making them more successful.”

By attending FAST TRACK resellers will:

Gain an understanding of the business benefits of a high availability IT infrastructure, and the cost of ‘non-continuity’;

Get practical guidelines on how to design a business-critical IT infrastructure;

Become familiar with the concept of Adaptive Architecture and the components of a high availability solution; and

Be able to proficiently give innovative and informative infrastructure management advice to their customers.

FAST TRACK is targeted at all levels of expertise, from SMB resellers to large enterprise system integrators.
