EDGE 2020 Goes Virtual

Sydney, June 10th, 2004- AVisum, the specialist in digital media technology, today introduced two new digital media players, no-moving-parts devices that bring sound and vision into environments like retail point of sale where DVD players and VCRs fear to tread. A solid-state device without any moving parts or fans; these units operate reliably 24/7 and are ideal for heavy-duty workloads. The new units are part of AVisum's digital media distribution system.

The Remote Player 3 offers MPEG 1 & 2 playback and JPEG stills, and can connect to the Internet so that new content can be uploaded into the Compact Flash cards that serve as its storage. A single device can control multiple screens and, using the optional Remote Transfer Software, can display content determined by individual play lists.
The software allows the creation of play lists for up to 1000 screens, which can be located anywhere in Australia, and allows time scheduling of each play list, all of which can be managed from a single web page.
Remote Player 3 can connect to an LCD screen, plasma television, CRT or projection TV. Touch screens, bar code readers and motion sensors are also supported and full reporting of these interactions is offered so managers can analyse the performance of promotions delivered though this new medium.

The Viewstream-M3 is a junior version that does not connect to the Internet but plays the same MPEG 1&2 and JPEG stills and boasts the ability to program content as required or display it in a loop. The M3 can also drive CRTs, projection TV, and plasma or LCD screens.

AVisum can also supply the LCD screens for the two machines, in sizes ranging from 6” to 30”.
Advertising content creation, installation and custom packaging into POP enclosures can also be arranged by AVisum.
