Get wired for sound and video with NETGEAR’s 200Mbps Powerline products

 • 05 February, 2007 12:27

Sydney, Australia (February 5, 2007) – NETGEAR (Nasdaq: NTGR) has announced shipping of its 200Mbps Powerline products which utilise electrical wiring to extend the reach of a network -- ensuring consumers get the most out of their network, from every corner of their home.

The compact HDXB101 Powerline HD 200Mbps Ethernet Adapter Kit (which includes two HDX101 Powerline HD 200Mbps Ethernet Adapters) broadcasts a fast and stable network connection into corners Ethernet cabling won’t reach. The 200Mbps Powerline Adapters provide a fast link between home computers and print servers, network attached storage devices and digital lifestyle products such as media streamers and game consoles.

The HDXB101 enables simple plug and play installation, with built-in QoS to support video streaming and non-stuttering VoIP. Configurable QoS is also accessible to advanced users and encrypted security protects the network from hackers.

Consumers can plug the Powerline Adapter into any standard electrical wall outlet, connect it to a broadband router and plug-in additional Powerline Adapters throughout the home -- anywhere there is a PC, DVR, gaming console or other networking appliance. For consumers needing to connect two or more devices to the network, single adapters (HDX101) are sold separately.

The NETGEAR HDXB101 Powerline HD 200Mbps Ethernet Adapter Kit (RRP $429) and HDX101 Powerline HD 200Mbps Ethernet Adapter (RRP $229) are now available from NETGEAR’s value-added resellers. Backed by 24x7 technical support, they come with a NETGEAR one-year warranty. Increased technical support is also available with NETGEAR's advanced warranty.
