ASG Group has won a deal to provide system integration and management services for the Asia-Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC) 2007 Taskforce.
ASG's northern region general manager, Tim Selfridge, said it was a significant deal for the company because it demonstrated its ability to provide services on a national scale. The taskforce runs under the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C).
"We currently have a solid, long-term relationship with the PM&C in terms of delivering managed services," he said. "We would have had extremely solid competition [for this contract]."
ASG will offer desktop support services, project management and integration services to both stationary and mobile locations across Australia. Selfridge said ASG would recruit more staff for the contract to cover the delivery of the services involved.
"We are consistently bringing on new staff and in this particular case it would be a good mapping of individuals within the organisation and then supplementing that with any additional heads," he said.
