Nokia Enterprise Solutions is launching a global channel program to accelerate the adoption of business mobility solutions.
Local marketing manager, Brad Reed, said some elements of the Nokia for Business program were currently in place but it would be fully launched early next year.
"Australia is already ahead of the game. We have been working at this for quite some time," he said.
The program will include some new guidelines that are based on clearly distinguishing its security, mobility and mobile phone channels. Reed said it also includes some changes to the rewards and incentives offered to partners.
"We are formalising it so when people look to Nokia as a provider of services they can see that partners have certain levels of accreditation associated with the different products they are selling," he said.
The program will be split into two levels - authorised and expert. Each level is comprised of three technology tracks; security, mobility and voice.
Security partners will have access to firewall, IP VPN and intrusion prevention products; voice partners will sell enterprise voice systems; mobility partners can access the Intellisync Mobile suite and other device management software. Nokia will encourage partners to specialise in more than one area.
"The different tiers will largely be driven by the level of skill and the number of staff that have undertaken training on our products," Reed said. Depending on the product and service, the programs will be offered in a variety of formats online and via practical training sessions.
"We will progressively skill up our channel and make products available that make use of new technologies. VoIP is a good example of that," Reed said.
