Queensland-based storage distributor, Independent Data Solutions Group (IDS-G), is looking to expand its operations across the country to match its already established business in Asia-Pacific.
The company is readying its Melbourne office to open in the New Year. Sydney and Perth will follow suit in February. The distributor already has an international presence with recently opened offices in New Zealand, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Managing director, Stephen Robins, said customer and partner interest from Melbourne showed it to be a promising market.
"We are seeing a significant number of opportunities down there," he said.
IDG-S' current vendor line-up includes Titus, Atempo, Expand, McData, Fujitsu, Copan and FalconStor.
Robins said its expansion into new geographies would help vendors target a broader customer set. For example, FalconStor had not previously been represented by a distributor in Sydney or Melbourne, he said. The companies have had a relationship for the past two years.
Despite the rapid expansion of the business, Robins said his key objective was to build up its reputation over the next 12 months.
