Gigabyte has released its latest series of enthusiast motherboards with its 8E series. It takes advantage of Intel’s 925X and 915P chipsets and LGA775 Pentium 4 processor with hyper-threading. The series support DDR-2 533/400 to deliver a maximum memory bandwidth of 8.5GB per second in dual channel DDR mode and include a universal plus dual power system eight-phase power circuit to withstand varying electrical current levels for ensuring future processor upgrades. The series provides IEEE 1394b and USB 2.0 connections for high-speed data transfer, and high-speed Serial ATA for connection of storage devices. The 8E also feature PCI Express, dual gigabit LAN, an integrated 802.11g wireless LAN and Intel high definition audio. Software features include C.O.M., download venter, easytune 5 for overclocking, and Xpress3 for safe recovery and backups. Available now from Synnex and Rectron Electronics.
