HP referring disaster recovery to CBL

HP referring disaster recovery to CBL

CBL Data Recovery Technologies expects to see a jump in demand for its services after securing a support contract with HP.

The agreement will see HP service centres and contact centres referring customers to CBL when they are not able to access data. The arrangement covers PCs, notebooks, servers and digital cameras.

"It is the first major partnership we have signed across Asia Pacific. It has pushed the growth rate of CBL and we had to employ two more lab technicians," managing director, Vicky Brauner, said. "It is about reassuring HP customers that if they have somebody to call if there is a disaster recovery problem."

The data is returned to customers in CD or DVD format within 72 hours. Customers can also opt for a priority service that offers 24 hours turnaround. No charges apply if the data can not be retrieved.

Until November 17, CBL is offering customers a 20 per cent discount for data recovery services on any HP products. Brauner said HP customers would be offered a 10 per cent discount for services after the initial offer period. The company is also working with HP to formulate a data recovery insurance program.
