IT service provider, The Missing Link, has stolen a march on its competitors by bagging the first full certification in Cisco's Express Foundation Specialisation.
The specialisation - encompassing sales, design and field engineer categories - also allows the Sydney-based business to become a Cisco Premier Partner.
Managing director and co-owner, Alex Gambotto, said the Express Foundation modules were like building blocks, from which a business could investigate advanced specialisations such as wireless LAN.
"We were originally doing the old certification when we found out through LAN Systems that Cisco had released a new one," he said. "I think Cisco wants to cull a lot of dead wood in its Premier Program because it's much harder than the old one. So it made sense to just go for it and, that way, we would remain certified for at least a couple of years."
Gambotto said three staff had completed the training. He suggested additional product discounts, access to a dedicated Cisco account manager and greater company awareness were all key reasons for chasing the specialisation and, in turn, premier status.
