Storage distributor, T Data, has parted ways with FalconStor and made several sales personnel redundant.
T Data director, John Buchanan, told resellers in a recent electronic newsletter that the business had realigned itself to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive market.
"There's nothing wrong with the FalconStor product - it looks great on paper - but it was hard to communicate this to customers and we were getting very little return for our effort," he said. "We're now positioned to take a much more aggressive stand in the market."
Campbell also suggested FalconStor's direct sales had influenced the decision to stop working with the vendor.
"FalconStor sells direct to quite a number of people and that wasn't helping us either," he said.
The much hyped boom in storage hasn't translated into a boom for T Data.
"We have been in storage for a long time and each year we've been selling more but making less of a return," he said. "This is a tough market and we've had to streamline our storage business just to remain profitable."
FalconStor had not responded to requests for comment at the time of going press.
