Lotus vows to heal partner relations

There was more chest beating bravado then you'd find at a screening of King Kong takes Manhattan at last week's annual Lotus/IBM Partner Connect conference in the Blue Mountains.

And it appeared the inspirational words trumpeted by the band of visiting US and local execs were enough to stir the spirits of both vendors' channel partners who have for too long been starved of support by their big brothers.

Peter Taylor, Lotus' managing director was the first to admit that the Notes-maker "has not been brilliant when it comes to partner satisfaction," during his keynote speech. However, he quickly moved to allay any lingering partner fears saying the vendor would do everything in its power this year to sell its market-leading Notes/Domino message and partnership with IBM to small to medium businesses.

"Domino sales in Australia grew 227 per cent last year and it is crucial that we and our partners ram home the branding message that Notes/Domino is the leading messaging platform in the country," Taylor said.
