Web security company, Websense, has announced plans to integrate PortAuthority Technologies' information leak- prevention technology into its product line.
Websense's upcoming Deep Content Control offering, slated for availability during the first half of next year, will include PortAuthority's PreciseID information classification and identification technology, according to both Websense and PortAuthority officials.
By including PortAuthority's technology with its content filtering and Web security offerings, Websense would offer a product that protected against sensitive information being viewed by unauthorised employees, and it also controlled how such information left the organisation and under what circumstances, officials said.
These additions enhance Websense's existing product line that blocks malicious code from entering an organisation via the Web and controls which websites employees visit to comply with corporate policies.
Pricing for Websense's Deep Content Control has not yet been announced.
