Network infrastructure vendor, APC, has established a demonstration and training centre for partners and their customers. It is located at its Sydney office.
A/NZ general manager, Gordon Makryllos, said this was the first of its kind focused on data centre infrastructure in Asia-Pacific. "This centre gives us the ability to offer hands-on demonstration of new concepts in the data centre around power, cooling, structured cabling, rack, security and management products," he said.
The centre would also educate partners on how to design, build, install, commission and maintain data centre infrastructure, Makryllos said. Besides its demonstration and training facility, the centre would also feature a test laboratory.
"A lot of our channel partners have not really come up to speed on the benefits they can offer customers by selling the whole manageability aspect of the data centre," he said. "We are trying to educate them on these new approaches. It gives them the opportunity to make better margin."
The centre will feature APC's latest products including InfraStruXure InRow RC and NetBotz surveillance software.
The vendor is offering partners free tours of the data centre, as well as customer Lunch and Learn seminars, which will kick off in November.
In May, APC rolled out an online Data Centre University aimed at training partners involved in building, operating or designing server rooms or data centres.
