Global CIS provider Talgentra appoints National Business Development Manager in Australia

 • 17 August, 2006 14:11

Melbourne, August 17. To support the continued success and growth of Gentrack in the Australian market, Talgentra – a global CIS and billing solutions company - has appointed Pieter van Jaarsveld as National Business Development Manager.

Pieter joins Talgentra after a successful 11-year career with Intergraph – a global leader providing Geospatial resource management solutions to the utility industry. Pieter drove business development in Intergraph Australia and has worked with a number of existing Gentrack customers over the past five years. He will add significant value to Talgentra’s strategic development efforts in Australia.

Pieter said: “Talgentra has established a number of key partnerships with utilities throughout Australia. The challenge to open new doors for Gentrack, and to extend our footprint in the region based on our success, will be a key part of my role. A great challenge in a dynamic company – I am looking forward to working within an enthusiastic team with extensive industry experience, and getting out there to build the relationships required to develop our business.”

Based in Talgentra’s St Kilda office in Melbourne, Pieter is working alongside expanding Gentrack development and business teams to drive sales and business development strategies in the region.

The recent success at Aurora Energy has taken the number of Gentrack customers in Australia to 12, demonstrating the growing success of the customer management, meter data management and billing software. The customer base is expected to grow rapidly as opportunities continue to present themselves in the deregulating energy market in Australia and as a result of a renewed focus on the Australian water industry.

“The utility industry in Australia is very dynamic and we will be challenged over the coming years to deliver innovative CIS and billing solutions that will provide our customers with the key systems to serve their customers better and to improve operational efficiency,” said Pieter. “In response to the market, we have already invested heavily in development of our Gentrack Meter Data Management and CRM solutions – both of which are already being used by a number of Australian utilities.”

Pieter van Jaarsveld will be contacting Gentrack clients over the coming month to formerly introduce himself and to review strategic account initiatives. Alternatively, he can be contacted on (03) 9867 9125 or email: pieter.vanjaarsveld@talgentra.com.
